In May 2010, Hellenic National Meteorological Service (HNMS) was certified as per EN ISO 9001: 2008 for the Quality Management System (QMS) which applies for the provision of meteorological support to aviation. This certification, valid until May 2013, was conducted in accordance with TUV AUSTRIA HELLAS auditing and certification procedures and is subject to regular surveillance audits.

It is within the HNMS goals to expand the application of the QMS in other areas of interest, such as Marine Meteorology, meteorological forecasts for the public, etc.

At the same time, HNMS was certified as an Air Navigation Service Provider under the framework of the Single European Sky Regulations. This certification, valid until the end of May 2013, was conducted by the Hellenic Air Navigation Supervisory Authority (HANSA) in accordance with the Common Requirements (ÅC) 550/2004 and (ÅC) 2096/2005 of the European Commission applicable to meteorological services.
